Since Linux is perfectly happy running from any drive, most people dual or multiple boot using LILO or GRUB bootloader that comes with Linux. I heard special configuration is needed to dual boot with XP, but do not have XP, so no details. If they wanted to keep each drive totally independent and self bootable,

Advice restoring a dual boot system
NT
boot manager works fine. I have about 6 machines configured as such. You might want to install NT on a separate partition. Also, NT doesn't understand FAT32 (unless you have NT v5), so you cannot access those partitions using NT. If you want to dual boot W9x and NT, your boot partition (C) has to be FAT16.

I need to create a dual-boot setup or at the least... convert a W98 machine to a NT 4.0 machine. I have the NT software, and I'm wondering about a couple of things: 1. Should I use partition Magic (I have it) to create the NT partition in my root drive? I've never use PM before so I'm hoping it works as advertised

I need to install Win98 on a second 6 Gb HD for a Dual boot or somehow do a multiple boot (not sure if possible). I already have all file backed up and Rdisk /s ERDiskette. I will not need both OSs to share files - actually, I will prefer 98 not to see NT's HD. I prefer not to use a disk manager software.
